This is a self-development course for anyone who wants to improve their confidence in any area of their life, in the form of user-friendly flexible distance learning.
COURSE 750 : CONFIDENCE BUILDING
The course has been carefully compiled by Alice Muir (psychologist) and Dr Ken Hambly ( a doctor) and will help people to :
- Gain a better understanding of what confidence is
- Understand how confidence can be lost
- Have a clearer and more positive sense of their strengths and their identity
- Be more clear on their priorities in life
- Understand stress and anxiety better, and some methods of managing them
- Understand how to talk and behave more confidently
- Learn new skills to help them to cope better in a range of difficult situations
- Make up their own Plan of Action to follow after the course
All of this will unfold in two Workbooks, which people can work on at their own pace, with informal and friendly tutor support if wanted.
COURSE 750 : COURSE INFORMATION
- Course open to anyone
- 20 hours of flexible informal home study. Work at your own pace, but we suggest you take 2-3 months working on the course for an hour or two per week.
- Confidential and supportive
- You send us regular progress reports and get helpful and supportive feedback by post or e-mail.
- Methods used are researched, tried and tested.
- Informal and friendly tutor support throughout.
- Uses 2 user-friendly workbooks.
What the Confidence Building Course covers:

WORKBOOK 2: Body language for confidence, Becoming more assertive, Dealing with put-downs, Coping with aggressive people, Dealing with authority figures, Dealing with criticism, Dealing with anger, Understanding depression, Working through unfinished business, Improve your communication skills, Improve your social skills, How to cope better with a range of difficult situations, Visualisation for success.
COURSE FEES AND ARRANGEMENTS
- You can begin a course on the 1st or 15th day of any month - except 15th July, 1st and 15th August (just give us 2-3 weeks notice).
- Course fee : £128 (UK and Eire), (prices on request for elsewhere), payable in instalments if preferred (UK only).
- Money back guarantee (full refund if you are unhappy with the course/pack when it arrives, provided it is returned unused within 7 days).
- Down-load and print out the Enrolment Form (see below)and send it with your cheque (or four post-dated cheques as instalments--see below for details).
- Cheques should be made payable to 'Alice Muir Training.'
- Just let us have your enrolment form 2 - 3 weeks before your chosen start date.
- Payment from outwith the UK can be made by bankers draft in Sterling (GBP) or Euros.
How to Pay by Instalments (for UK only)
Normally payment for home study courses must be received in full on enrolment.
However, if you are in the UK, we can accept an enrolment based on payment
of 4 equal instalments*, using post-dated cheques as follows.
We would accept an enrolment provided the following four cheques are
received by us (payable to 'Alice Muir Training
'):
Cheque for one
quarter of the course fee, dated one month before the course start
date.
Cheque for one quarter of the course fee, dated the course start
date.
Cheque for one quarter of the course fee, dated one month after
the course start date.
Cheque for one quarter of the course fee, dated
two months after the course start date.
So for example if a course starts on 1st May, we would require four
equal instalments using cheques dated 1st April, 1st May, 1st June and 1st
July.

A Full Course Fee of £128
requires 4 Instalments of £32.00.
