Problems with Stress
People from all walks of life can have difficulties with stress for one reason or another. These days almost everyone has at least had a brush with it.
Being stressed can be bewildering, confusing and frightening. And it can be very difficult to work out what to do for the best.
It can be impossible to find anyone you can trust to talk about it or to help you. Sometimes you can't tell anyone because of what they might think of you.
There are many unhelpful attitudes out there. You may well have come across them. You may even hold some of these yourself. Maybe you think that you are to blame if you're stressed, or that it is a sign of weakness.
You might feel that all you need to do is give yourself a shake, and 'pull yourself together'. Or maybe you think stress is a serious mental health problem.
Worst of all, you might have been told that stress is good for you, that it gets the best out of you. Not at all. None of these ideas is correct.
